I should probably ask: Ariel is the only person I know of who posted on the fediverse from Antarctica. Are there others?

@evan
I think various research expeditions posted on fediverse. So @MARUM and @lilafisch come to mind sooner or later as candidates. @awi is a strong candidate as well, depending on who of them will join :)

But @PoLaRobs posted some nice stuff from Polarstern. So he might have and know others :)

Thank you all for your work and awesome posts/documentation!

@mwfc @evan @MARUM @lilafisch @awi As far as I know I was the only one posting to the fediverse from the expedition I participated in on Polarstern last season (PS134).

Thanks to everyone who answered.

I'm going with somewhat good.

Personally, I travelled to NYC with my son and to Vancouver for OSSNA. I got to work in my garden planting and tending native plants. I made jams, had a BBQ party, and worked on important work.

At a global level, the wildfires in Canada have been painful, not to mention in Greece and elsewhere. Storms, heatwaves, and cold snaps are getting worse and it feels bad.

@evan clarifying: it rained so much, rarely got over 65, and I never put my sweaters away. BUT I get to live with my wonderful husband, so I can’t say it totally sucked. I just missed the sun!
@lprodromo didn't you take like 50 trips this summer?
@evan Poland (rain), Wales (rain), Italy ☀️!
@evan Very Meh. Was indecisive but I went with "Somewhat bad" just because I aspire to better.
@evan I voted somewhat good because it started out very stressful, but then got much better. I was tempted to go with "Very good" because it's hard to remember the stressful part given the good parts.
@evan How was yours?
@darren good question! I usually wait until the end of the poll to give my answer.
@evan somewhat good and somewhat bad, hh

@evan

I went from not feeling in control of how I felt (mostly pandemic driven) to holding myself responsible for being OK, which was huge, but not yet fun.

@evan I got on testosterone, which is cool, but I've had a fever for six months, which is less cool.
