So, I'm just going to be sure I have this straight.

Back in 2019-2020, when #covid19 first burst onto the scene, nobody had any idea what we were dealing with. Out of an abundance of caution people were urged to stay at home, and keep away from other people.

In the almost-four years since then, we have learned exactly what we are dealing with - a disease never dealt with before on this level, that attacks and destroys multiple systems of the body, leaves many people disabled/bedridden, or with any of a huge number of chronic conditions.

It attacks the heart and brains of everyone infected (to varying degrees), and confers no long lasting immunity against future infections (which tend to get worse each time).

But with all that knowledge, we've now dropped any semblance of protection, and actively discourage masking, isolation and cleaning the air.

... Do I have this right?

@Juicyfranck

To be fair, you do seem to be missing the whole vaccine, booster etc.

Here in Santa Clara County (part of the San Francisco Bay Area), 88% have both shots and 35% have the booster.

https://covid19.sccgov.org/dashboard-vaccinations

7 day average of new cases is 71....down from 6,815 in January 2022.

https://covid19.sccgov.org/home

Surely most cities in Canada are similar?

(I have a total of four covid shots.)

We can't maintain lockdown forever....at some point you have to admit it's reasonably well contained. 😀

@neutrino78x if only the vaccines provided significant protection from Long Covid, or helped prevent spread 🤷🏼‍♂️.

And with the majority of people more than 6 months past their last shot (and many ppl not eligible or interested in getting another booster), it doesn't even make a dent anymore.

Masks, clean air AND FAR-UV are the best options we have if we expect to make it out of this.

@Juicyfranck

"if only the vaccines provided significant protection from Long Covid, or helped prevent spread"

But Juicy, look at the graph. Spread is VERY, VERY LOW.

It's not 100% eradicated but at this point it's just another virus going around.

I feel like you're being really paranoid 😮

@neutrino78x ha ha... I know right?

Oh how I wish...

@Juicyfranck

"Oh how I wish..."

What do you mean, you wish? Look at the data.

Objectively. The emergency is over.

@neutrino78x omg that's hilarious!

@Juicyfranck

Whatever. I stand by what I said.

@neutrino78x btw, when did the WHO declare the pandemic over? (answer - they didn't). And when did C19 suddenly become a disease that *hasn't* killed tens of millions and disabled hundreds of millions? And still continues to?

@Juicyfranck

"nd when did C19 suddenly become a disease that *hasn't* killed tens of millions "

It didn't, but that's in the past. It's no longer killing millions of people in the G7, and we both live in the G7.

@neutrino78x just because MSM doesn't cover it like before, there's ton of actual evidence. I've spent my life reading and writing scientific reports, and it's all overwhelmingly clear.

If it makes you sleep easier at night, hey, keep on believing.

Good luck and I wish you the best.

@Juicyfranck Just look at the data, it's not a matter of belief. Just relax, it's technically still a pandemic but the emergency is over.

@neutrino78x @Juicyfranck a virus that now prefers to maim instead of kill is not one I would relax around

Take a look at how much the Bureau of Labor Statistics' survey of the population with a disability over the age of 16 is climbing:

https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/LNU00074597

Then look at all the long-term health complications that "mild" acute covid is capable of causing:

Population - With a Disability, 16 Years and over

Graph and download economic data for Population - With a Disability, 16 Years and over (LNU00074597) from Jun 2008 to Aug 2025 about disability, civilian, 16 years +, population, and USA.

@neutrino78x @Juicyfranck we have had plenty of lessons in never judging a virus by acute outcomes only. Chronic illness is the emergency. We're talking about a virus that can travel outside the respiratory system using receptors found all over the body, that causes chronic T cell activation and may never fully clear, and for which no durable immunity exists whatsoever

There are two kinds of symptoms that happen after an infection, but only one kind is focused on: 1. symptoms from the immune system responding to the presence of the pathogen 2. symptoms from the damage the pathogen has caused to various organs and organ systems, which can take time to fully manifest The latter can happen without the former. Our entire pandemic response to #covid focuses on the former at the expense of the latter

The real data or the "we dismantled the testing and tracing apparatus at the behest of our corporate masters" data?

People's CDC COVID-19 Weather Report | People's CDC

This is the @PeoplesCDC weekly update for August 28, 2023! This Weather Report from the People’s CDC sheds light on the current COVID situation in the US.

People's CDC
@neutrino78x
At least here in the US there is no data available anymore. There's no data to look at. We know it's out there and spreading and current vaccines aren't particularly effective, because that's about where we left off, data tracking wise, well over a year ago. But we don't really have any idea how many have it or when or where or how long... We have effectively given up trying to track or catalog anything. There's no way to put it in the context because there is no context. It's still out there killing and disabling people, and our government has decided that since we're not going to do anything about it the easiest way to get everyone to ignore it is just pretend it doesn't exist.
@Juicyfranck
@neutrino78x @Juicyfranck What data? The data that the government has actively worked to hide from us. The data not gained by stopping testing?
The lies from the CDC?
No thank you. I’ve seen the data, the real stuff from real scientists. It’s not over. Big government and big business is lying to you.

Attached: 1 image People often say #COVID cases are rising but there are far fewer cases than any other time in the pandemic. Wastewater shows that's false. There are far more cases now than the first summer of the pandemic, and this year's pattern is ominously similar to the lead up to the huge Omicron surge.
