There was a 12 or 13 year old kid wearing a baggy Nirvana sweatshirt at the bus stop this morning.
When I was that age, the equivalent, in terms of time interval, would have been me wearing a Glenn Miller or Benny Goodman Orchestra t-shirt. Ludicrous.
When I was 12, 30+ year old music was 'your grandad's music.'
@Richard_Littler I mean, there's always stuff from 30+ years ago that'll resonate with the young'ns. I'd be surprised to see a kid unironically being really into, like, Kenny G. But I see kids now enjoying 90s grunge/punk/alt-rock as more akin to my being into 60s/70s rock and psychedelic stuff as a kid in the 90s/00s.
