hey folks,
I am searching for a GUI task manager/ todo application with caldav backend *that supports subtasks/hierarchical todos* and optionally gtk/gnome integration. If it's mixed with other applications like calendar or even email I am ok.
I am astonished how unreasonable that seams to be, since on Android many OSS clients support subtasks, also Google Calendar and Nextcloud.
Here is what doesn't do it:
* thunderbird
* GNOME Endeavour (official GNOME task manager)
* Gnome's evolution
* Tasks by elementaryOS

Next I guess I'll have a look at KDE Kalendar - which will probably not integrate with my GNOME desktop.

I guess FOSS developers all use text based solutions?!

@lollonero nextcloud does it, gui available over web.
Korganizer does it when i connect it with my nextcloud.
@nachtpfoetchen yess KDE seems to have it down, Kalendar can do it too (i prefer the GUI) :)
@nachtpfoetchen ok, i found a gtk+ app... GTG - Getting things Gnome
It has its own caldav backend dependent on python, so it's kind of sleeker then installing the whole KDE PIM stack on a gnome desktop. But it's very "eigen", since it orients around the GTD method and not very actively maintained so I'm not sure if it's for me.
@lollonero i mean you can use flatpak or snap. So the kde stuff is all in that. Or use the web gui of nextcloud.
