#FlopsweatTrump is increasingly desperate.

Via Reuters' Sarah Lynch:

It's misleading for #Trump to claim on social media that he will appeal Judge #Chutkan's trial date of March 4. A trial court's scheduling order is not a legit basis to file an appeal at this stage, before a verdict is reached.

His own lawyer, John Lauro, conceded as much today in court when he said: "We will certainly abide by your honor's ruling, as we must."

@GottaLaff He’s saying this so he can later claim he was denied an opportunity to appeal it, even though he knows he can’t appeal it in the first place. More lies for fundraising emails.

@GottaLaff Ah, but when the courts don't let #Trump appeal the trial date, that enables another flurry of raging social media posts and adds fuel to the grievance machine. None of these responses to the #TrumpIndictment are about legal strategy, they're about revving up a force of brownshirts.

Desperate & ignorant. His view of the law is frozen in time back when mob lawyer Roy Cohn was mentoring him. He is not stupid; just incapable of learning. He may actually still believe the '20 election was rigged like he believed his inaugural crowd was big and "they" were doctoring photos. Once he gets something into his data storage it is like the early "write once" CD's. Not editable. Cohn told him appeal whatever a judge does you don't like. Current lawyers are talking to a wall.

@GottaLaff If I were inclined to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, it might occur to me that while an order setting a trial date isn't appealable, he might have meant that if he's convicted, one of the issues he'll raise in his appeal is that by setting this tight a trial date, the court deprived him of adequate representation because his lawyer didn't have time to prepare for trial. But I'm not so inclined, so I'll just go with figuring that "appeal" is the word he uses to mean "thing we do after a court does something I don't like."
