@drfancypantsesq @nitpicking Well, the thing to understand is that most consumption of the web now happens on social media. So, whereas in Olden Times, you could post in your blog "I have a new book out" and people would read it, now you gotta fight the algorithm to reach all the people who consume largely through social media on phones.

Claiming exactly no actual knowledge, I would have expected you to get the word out to your existing fans the way I hear about all your books: from the SMBC web site or your Patreon. Then we can spread the word ....

I'm sure there's a math to avoiding the nonsense and supporting the evil vs. feeding your family. I don't know what it is, as I don't have to rely on strangers for my income, thankfully.
