Everyone on that stage except for Chris Christie and Ada Hutchinson said they’d vote for trump if he’s the nominee, even if he’s found guilty of the various felony charges. When Christie criticized Trump’s attack on the constitution, the GOP debate crowd booed him. Is there really anything more to discuss?

@StevenBeschloss I don’t know why there was a debate. His legal defense is ‘stall for time’…so he’s running no matter what. It’s either win or jail. His followers aren’t going to vote for anyone else period. So…the GOP’s choice is just 2 options; nominate him or destruction. Because Trump would run as an independent…again he has no choice.
So barring a total party split (or him croaking)… he’s the nominee.

They just can’t bring themselves to say that…

@StevenBeschloss …and he knows the Georgia case, unless it goes to trial and he is convicted prior to Election Day…is meaningless too. It would just not happen. He would/could simply ignore it. And don’t let any judge, lawyer, or politician tell you otherwise. There is no way to arrest a sitting president. He understands that, for the president at least, the laws don’t apply to the person in charge of those that enforce the law. He’s a dipshit, but has figured out he’s safe if he’s re-elected.
