Day 5 #cycling the Pyrénées : Col du Tourmalet (take 1). Felix and I headed out late in the morning for what, in the best of times, would have been an ambitious double climb loop.. I suffered on day 5 of climbing after very little training all year, not to mention searing heat that set in shortly after starting up the mammoth Tourmalet climb. And so, when Felix made it to the pass and descended back to me 2/3 way up, I accepted defeat for today and pointed the bike back downhill towards home.
