Can you say “cult”?

Via @atrupar, citing CNN video clip:

Sen. Bill Cassidy says Trump is likely to be convicted in the documents case and says he should drop out of the race -- but then in the next breath indicates he'll still vote for him anyway

@GottaLaff @atrupar We might be reaching the point that we’re starting to devalue the concept of “cult” with the way these folks keep behaving.
@WarnerCrocker Well, they devalue everything, now it’s our turn.
@WarnerCrocker it’s been ‘Cult 45’ for quite a while now.
@cstefan206 @WarnerCrocker trying very hard to resist opening opening krita to make a graphic of trump in a “Cult 45” advertisement with the slogan “cult 45 does every time”
@GottaLaff @atrupar

I know those conservos want broken gov’t if they can’t have conservo gov’t, but that’s …yeah, “cult” works.
@GottaLaff @atrupar
Well, they have elected a dead man before.
@GottaLaff @atrupar Sweet Cheesus! The spinelessness of the GOP is maddening. Even as they claim they'll hold Defendant Trump accountable, they'll put party before patriotism just to potentially score a win. The party is lost to fascism.
@TomShafShafer They haven’t been patriotic in decades. Bush anyone?
@GottaLaff @atrupar The GQP is so afraid of what Putin gave Drumpf on them!
@otownKim I disagree. This isn’t about some conspiracy between Trump and Putin. This is about fear of losing their base and Trump’s ability to turn the base/donors against them. It’s about power. @atrupar
@GottaLaff @atrupar I also agree with you on that. However, the RNC hack from Russia unearthed a lot and I think Puttie has major dirt on many
@otownKim The did do that, but by now, we’d see leaks of that hack if it were that terrible. That’s not what’s driving the fascist GOP to be a cult.
@GottaLaff True. They are easily influenced racist misogynist xenophobic homophobic hateful people!

It's just disgusting to watch those Republican megadonors get away with this crap while the media treats George Soros like Hitler or something.

I'm still predicting that the GOP nominee is going to be Tim Scott though.

@GreenFire @GottaLaff @atrupar

Tim Scott as the nominee for the party of "Let's bring back Jim Crow" ?

I don't see it happening with the Trump base. Ditto Nikki Haley. The base adores its bigotry too much.

"Bigoted Old White Men Only Need Apply" is stamped on their foreheads.

Larry Ellison, Musk, Thiel, Yass, Uihlein, Hendricks, Adelson, Bigelow, etc poured money into the coup and its cover-up.

Ellison is funding Tim Scott.
I ask why?

Larry Ellison’s Eight-Figure Anti-Trump Dowry

From the start, Ellison stood alone in his unwavering support for Tim Scott. Now, a still-secret eight-figure check promises to turn the candidate into a Late Stage DeSantis alternative for the Wall Street and Silicon Valley crowd.

I just think that there a lot of Republicans that would like to "protect" themselves from being called racists by nominating a Clarence Thomas-type POC that they know they can control, but we'll see.

Making strong predictions about future election results is part of the reason we're in the mess we are in imo so I try not to do it too much and I don't really know what will happen.

@GreenFire @GottaLaff @atrupar

Using women, LGBTQ, and POC as tokens barely worked in Corporate America at the height of the Civil Rights movement.

This strategy has a low likelihood of success.

They'll do a bait & switch to Youngkin or someone like him.

He's their kind of racist. So is Brian Kemp.

@Npars01 @GreenFire @GottaLaff @atrupar At some point, investigators & prosecutors will have to ask the obvious question about the insurrection (and all its component parts including fake elector schemes) - who paid for it? Who, for example, paid the "war room's" hotel bill at the Willard?

Just as the coup's foot soldiers and plotters need to be prosecuted, so, too, must we prosecute the money. And then we can seize it - which will underwrite the cost of the prosecution - and maybe even pay down our national debt some...

@Npars01 @GreenFire @GottaLaff @atrupar
Because Larry Ellison is a deeply rotten, selfish man.
@Npars01 @GottaLaff @atrupar
Billionaires against Climate action?
Cause they can always buy their oxygen at the rich folks store.
@GottaLaff @atrupar Maybe Cassidy is just bargaining with reality. Now he says he’ll be convicted. Later he’ll say he won’t vote for him (after all he voted for impeachment conviction). The unviability of Trump is creeping into R minds…
@krschwarz We have no idea who they'll vote for, no matter what they say
@GottaLaff @atrupar If you ran an MRI scan of this guy's head, you'd see a lot of empty space and a pretzel.
@isotope239 And that’s being kind.

@GottaLaff @atrupar

I remember him from Beavis and Butthead, not a deep thinker.
