Did some hedge trimming today, so my arms are going to be pretty sore tomorrow, no doubt. A couple more to do, but I'll take my time tackling those.

Yard work is a bit of an annoying bother, but I'll bet I'd miss it if I gave up and moved into a condo.

Our #caragana hedge has been suffering some die-back in the last couple of years. I thought they were pretty much unkillable.

Reading a bit, I think it's prob a combination of wet weather, poor drainage (clay soil), and maybe some fungal/mildew infection. I'll keep pruning away dead stuff, and maybe try to loosen the topsoil a bit.

@ottaross perfect conditions for white cedar! They love it here! Unkillable, but if you don't keep up with the trimming you get a tree that can't be returned to a hedge.
@johnefrancis Aha - I've seen spots where there's a row of them and figured it was probably a hedge that got away from someone.
