The Satanic Leaf-tailed Gecko is indigenous to the island of Madagascar. A nocturnal reptile, it moves about its rainforest habitat at night feeding on insects. The adhesive scales under its fingers and toes and its strong curved claws enable it to move adeptly through the trees. Aside from its incredible mimicry, it can flatten its body against the substrate to reduce the body's shadow, open its jaws wide to show a frightening, bright red mouth, and voluntarily shed its tail in order to trick a predator.

@WahFo saw one of these guys up close at a reptile convention once. Saw the label but couldn't find the lizard. Then I realized it was right out in the open in the middle of it's little tank and I'd been staring right at it the entire time, can confirm their camouflage works.
