My #30mindailysewing goal for today is making progress in the #UFObusting department.

The plan is to re-cut and finish two machine-basted camis and make progress on perfecting a pair of yoga pants

Most likely too ambitious for today but we'll see how it goes.

Dear #sewingdiary ,

Happy to report that I managed to squeeze in a total of 40 mins of #sewing , yay!

My goals were too ambitious though. When will I ever learn that fitting garments, even simple ones like camis, takes time? 🙄 😁

- Unstitched both UFO camis.
- Re-cut, machine-basted and fitted one of them so it's ready to be serged.
- Threaded serger.

New goals are more modest: Finish both camis by tomorrow night.

We'll see how I fare.

Dear #sewingdiary ,

Got a total 30 mins of #sewing stuff done:

Re-cut and machine-basted the second UFO cami but it was too hot for fitting.

Next, I started planning a new #sewingproject : Storage boxes similar to IKEA's Dröna but different dimensions, with a divider and, unlike Dröna, _washable_.

Haven't found a tutorial for boxes with both fearures yet, and it was too hot to put my thinking cap on so I called it a day. 🌞

Dear #sewingdiary ,

I'm doing a happy 💃 🕺 💃:
30 mins of Sunday #sewing and #sewingprojectplanning and I haven't just two new camis in my drawers but also ideas how to incorporate a divider into washable fabric boxes. Yahoo!

Two finished UFOs don't make a big difference to my UFO pile, but it's a start.

Next, I'll make two different prototypes of storage boxes. Hopefully they'll work in practice, not just in my imagination. 😀

Dear #sewingdiary ,

I didn't set up a timer but am positive I've spent plenty of 5-10min bits, splattered over the course of the day, on #sewing , almost exclusively on prep work:

- Made a pattern for a fabric box prototype.
- Went through remnants and "to-be-refashioned" items for fabric.
- Threaded the sewing machine.
- Cleaned my cutting table.

Then I ran out of steam and pin-basted sleeves in an UFO tee.

Not bad for a Monday. 😄

@lil_meow_meow @30mindailysewing @[email protected] @sewing I got some #sewing done today! I’m still enjoying making simple, sturdy box bags for garden harvests, and I found a scrap of heavy denim that was exactly the right size to be a bag. And I have a lot of anarchist patches - this can be my “battle bag,” instead of a battle vest.
I spent the last few days arranging and rearranging the patches and straps I had on hand. Today the arrangement finally felt right, so I got started. I hemmed what will be the top edge with a simple pattern in this lovely red Japanese denim thread. Then I appliquéd the patches and attached the outside pocket. And I used a matching thread to attach the straps.
All that’s left tomorrow is to sew the sides and topstitch until I’m bored.
I’m excited! I think it looks really cool, and I’m going to keep this one. But I’ve ordered some more patches - gotta support the art punks - and I think I’ll make a few more for gifts, while the mood lasts.

Love the term “battle bag". 😂 Don't you just love it when you see a project coming to life and in the end, you're rewarded with something useful and unique and depending on the project cool or fun or beautiful? 🥰

Happy #sewing !

@donkeyherder @lil_meow_meow @30mindailysewing @[email protected] @sewing that looks great! I sewed a patch to a bag for the first time this week and now I can’t wait to finish it and start using it.
