X (formerly Twitter) is removing block functionality.

Can you imagine using any social media without block functionality?

Ey, also spätestens jetzt würde ich sagen, der will das Ding killen. Ist eh nur noch 20 Mrd wert und wozu braucht die Welt das?

The difference between Musk's (su)X & Mastodon is, that X is an antisocial medium.

Elon's personal capitalism & despotism playground, serving his histrionic attention disorder.

@atomicpoet @socialmedianews Musk's understanding of the democratic principle of majority rule:

I am the majority!

His version of the guillotined French king's razed-away "I am the state! (L'état, c'est moi!)".

We'll still be able to block All of Twitter. And advertisers will be able to block their advert too if they have not already done so.

@atomicpoet @socialmedianews i can imagine anything coming from melon musk. I can imagine myself hating it as easily.

A lot of people are saying that the "Apple App Store TOS requires that apps have a block function"

"Can you imagine using any social media without block functionality?"

It's actually fine if you start off with a working permission layer. We only added blocking in 2014, and rarely if ever use it. Don't need it. If people are coming into your living room behaving like animals and murdering your guests, sure, you can kick them out. You could also just close the bloody front door - and only let your friends in. Same result-  but without all the dead friends.

But X is removing blocks and never even had a concept of permissions. We already know how that story ends. I've seen it play out over and over and over again in my 40+ years of doing decentralised communications.
@atomicpoet @socialmedianews Why is everybody wondering about an insane move from an insane person.
There is nothing else to expect.
@atomicpoet @socialmedianews clearly someone showed him a list of people who were blocking him (me included on multiple now stale accounts) so of course he has to remove the feature
