"Toxic Positivity" is a thing? JFC...now I have to self-examine for that.
Oh, how you make me smile. You have zero toxicity value, Annie.

I was reading an article about Ted Lasso. The person who wrote it is very cynical. I shan't be having tea with her. Oh! Thanks Skepti! 😘

That is one of my favorite shows. Just love it.
And it's true Annie! You're a doll ❀️😘❀️

Mmm...Chicken and Biscuits. Northie...that's one of my fave comfort dishes from childhood.

@LikeItOrLumpIt I guess if you feel bad about it it takes the edge right off and then you're good.

@floregonian

Hope someone would say something if I was too much.

Hi Jeremy.

"Happier than an Up With People SuperBowl Halftime show"

I have waaaay too much personal experience of that lol

@pixelpusher220 Gosh. That would be annoying.

@LikeItOrLumpIt it was quite the experience....for me, the prototypical software nerd with less than stellar personal skills....I can be taken out in public now.

No worries, you cannot do toxic positivity.

Thanks Nick. Feel like I should think about toning it down at times. πŸ€—

@adhdeanasl

I think you're right. That was the term that used to be used for it, Dean.

@LikeItOrLumpIt Why does everything need to be renamed every 20 years or so?
@adhdeanasl
I can't keep up. Thanks for suggesting a term I'm familiar with.

My understanding of toxic positivity, for anyone interested: rather than trying to see a thing for what it really is, without judgement, you decide that it's alright, nothing needs to change, its already good enough. That stifles growth.

I suspect its difficult to be both self-examining and to have toxic positivity, unless your examining yourself to marvel at how perfect you are!

@not_gagarin

This is a very good and clear explanation! Thanks. πŸ€—
