Hi Mastodon.
Since I abandoned my twitter (I uninstalled it when it was still called Twitter so it will remain Twitter for me) this is my official social output.

It's been since 9PM yesterday that someone has tried making a Microsoft account using my main email (apparently all you need is guessing a 6 digits code...)

I have now claimed that account and secured it with my usual randomly generated password.

Mad at Microsoft because:
- 2FA is only with their own authenticator
- no option for hardware keys...

@sesilaso im fairly sure MS does let you use a generic authenticator, but the option is just buried in a sub-menu.... hopefully that's still the case.
i set one up for my work account a while back - it did try to push me into using the official one, but was able to find the option for the generic kind eventually.
@Leviamicky I tried skipping the install but it just redirected me to the main account settings page. I'll try harder lol
@sesilaso i remember the option being like a small unobtrusive link on the window where its telling you to install the MS Auth app xD;
