@leemadgwick the backstory on these images is fun. they’re two actual places/structures that inspired author jeff vandermeer for his book “annihilation” — the lighthouse is in northwestern florida in st marks national wildlife refuge, the second is in a castle (quinta da regaleira) in sintra, portugal, a downward spiraling straircase leading to a pool supposedly used in some sort of secret society rituals.
