@ggadwa just count the Essentials as half a time. Then you only bought them 2.5 times!

@delldracula First couple issues DeMatteis is really pounding us with the feels for Nighthawk, I forgot this part.
I guess he's setting us up before he really stomps on Patsy :) It's kind of funny to read this for the 20th time. My memory is bad, but I know enough of the plot points to see it was carefully constructed.
@delldracula I was waiting for this panel, I always remember it, even after I read it the first time. I wonder how much nebulon get used outside of defenders, I should look that up!

It's really old school writing, which, you know, was new school then.

@delldracula Newest Amazing is both good and bad. There's very much a "written by a guy" bachelorette party but then the setup of the next arc isn't bad.
Next issue's story is a Kraven and Goblin Queen team up. Not super interested.
I honestly feel like I'm trying really hard to give Wells points, but I'm trying equally hard to read every issue without preconceived notions.
@ggadwa I was sorting some stuff and found Gog's first appearance. Which I forgot I bought! This Wells stuff is so mediocre and unenjoyable it actually made me FORGET how excited I was tearing through Spencer's run ðŸ˜
@delldracula I'm beginning to think the Mary Jane stuff is editoral ... I think they want to spin her into her own super hero book.
No excuse to Wells, at all, but more and more its feeling that way.
@ggadwa it worked out for several versions of Gwen, why not give MJ a shot?

@delldracula I'm just glad I've reached the point in my life where I'm judging super villain nazi uniforms.
The nazis were absolute monsters but they did know how to put together a snappy evil uniform!
@delldracula Why does every new arc of amazing just feel like a wasted opportunity?
So there's a new twist and I just know nothing will happen because of it, it'll just reset or end in the most nonsense way.

@delldracula Here's the weird thing, if you think about it, this harkens back to the early 70s where you'd have some twist-y happen but it would be cleared up in 2 or maybe 3.
It's not a bad way to do comics but at the same time the art has changed.
@ggadwa I liked that issue of PPTSSM where he turned into a lizard for one issue because of that Schizoid Man jerk.
@delldracula This whole thing about Norman's sins as something you can pass around is one of the most comic-book-y things I've seen in a while, though.
Nothing beats green lantern rings are blocked by yellow but close.
@delldracula The art in the new Thor book -- well, the art on the last couple pages -- is really stunning!

@ggadwa I have misplaced my replacement stylus. It's even bright red (because I knew I'd lose it ðŸ˜)
@delldracula Eventually you will lose enough styluses that you'll have the opposite problem of continually finding them!

@delldracula BTW Hickman's ultimate universe thing is ... kind of boring.
@delldracula New Amazing ... eh. Will see where it goes (boy have I said that before.). That said, the fill in artist really laid out some cool panels and neat camera angles -- Gleason is the name. It's a striking comic.
@ggadwa he was based out of the twin cities here (or at least the Midwest) for a good while here. Didn't he design the current "spider-goblin" suit? (I forget!)

@delldracula This new arc on Amazing isn't bad, it's kind of a standard idea, but it feels so meaningless, it's not tying into anything and it'll certainly be erased in an issue or so.
@delldracula OK so it seems Hickman's new bit is the ultimate universe being rebooted.
I'd like to meet Hickman -- whose work I love though some of it didn't stand up -- and dare him to do a street level book :)
