@thesiswhisperer This was lovely to read. One of my favourite moments from early in my PhD was when my supervisor gently and warmly called someone out on their assholery. in a research colloquium, he said sth like: "That is a really good point, I think it works well without the name-dropping too". (But he probably said it better that that.) Created a culture of kind academia. #viadrina

@thesiswhisperer interestingly enough, I haven't really experienced this in game studies. I wonder if it's because it's a younger field, if I just haven't gone far enough in the field, or if there's some other reason I'm not seeing. Privilege, or maybe I'm the asshole myself? (Hopefully not!)
