@seldo you must not have seen Mr Beast’s poll on the bird site where he asked if someone offered you $10k but a random person in the world would die, would you take it? A sickening 44.5% of the 1.89 million respondents said yes.

@seldo I don’t buy it. Resources were thrown at the sub because it was newsworthy and garnered massive media coverage. There are countless migrant boats, they get lost all the time and the story, sad as it may be, is now routine.

Think of the Thai cave rescue or the Chilean miners. Newsworthy events, massive recovery efforts, yet the folks trapped were not billionaires.
