New Poll Asked Voters Whether They Plan To Support Trump In 2024โ€”And Hoo Boy, Trump Won't Be Happy

Oof, that's gotta hurt!

Second Nexus
@georgetakei "Divided along party lines..." yeah, maybe for some of the other questions, but not "favorable view."
@georgetakei if he gets the GOP nod they will fall in line though. That is the problem GOP voters would vote for a literal face eating leopard promising to eat their faces before voting Democrat and admitting they are wrong.
@CrypticMirror @georgetakei The other possibility is that a lot of Republicans will just stay home.
@georgetakei Nothing that a little monotonously repetitive insinuation at the top of his voice can't reverse.

@georgetakei The 36% who still say they'd vote for him is basically just the "MAGA Faithful." He can't win with just them. He needs independents. Without them, he's dead in the water.

Note 1: Some of the 36% might peel off as the trials get underway. They won't admit Trump is a criminal, but might start supporting other candidates. (My parents seem to be doing this.)

Note 2: Even if polls say 90% of Americans will vote for Biden, we still need to act like it's 50-50 until the voting's done.

@georgetakei my main takeaway from this is that 35% of Americans have a favourable view of Donald Trump.
@frobisher @georgetakei thatโ€™s kinda crazy. How can over a third of people support him after all this?
@georgetakei That 35% still view him favorably is just...I want to say unbelievable, but nothing shocks me any more. A third still think "he's my guy"? I weep for this country.
@georgetakei The problem for our democracy is that he still has HUGE support among conservatives and has 70% of Republicans. Meanwhile, their favorite media outlets continue to lie about the election. Democracy cannot function when a third of voters fully believe ridiculous conspiracies and are violent.
@georgetakei Still 38% don't disapprove of Trump. Are they OK?

@georgetakei

Tell me you are a republican publication without telling me you are a republican publication.... "AP poll finds Trump's favorability and general election support at surprisingly low levels"

"surprisingly low"????

How about unbelievably high considering that he has been indicted at all?!
