@drgroftehauge @erinnacland @thesiswhisperer @academicchatter it's a nightmare - my original field, glaciology has exploded since I did my PhD nearly 20 years ago. There must be ten times more articles coming out now than there were then..

@Ruth_Mottram @drgroftehauge @erinnacland @thesiswhisperer @academicchatter For currencies at least there are some ways to fight hyper-inflation. At this pace, PhD students will be soon required to write a dozen of papers to get their PhD, instead of 2-4 of higher-value papers a few decades ago. Or maybe just skip papers completely and just submit "novel" abstracts. Nobody sincerely got time to read more than that, and to keep up most is soon generated by AI anyway 🤣 TikTok-ization of science.
