Watson has been my COVID nursemaid, loving this opportunity for uninterrupted cuddles. It would be a lot more endearing if it wasn't 100+ degrees out there and my house had air conditioning.
@joanmccarter Very sorry to hear you caught Covid Joan. Hope you are feeling better and suffer no lasting effects.
@acwhite Thank you, Andrew. So far the symptoms are fairly mild, and I got on paxlovid right away. It just really wasn't how I wanted to spend vacation.
@joanmccarter Glad to hear it's been mild. Totally understand about sucky vacations. Spent all my vacation time sitting in a dark room doing nothing the month of June due to a bout of shingles in my right eye. Not my idea of a fun time. May it pass swiftly and easily for you.
@acwhite Ooooh, that's gruesome. I know that it's also really hard to make go away. Best of luck on that one to you on keeping that at bay, too.
@joanmccarter It was horrific indeed. And it is incredibly slow in getting better. I am MUCH MUCH better than I was in June and yet my eye still is swollen and the nerve in my face on fire. No fun at all. But at least I am partially back about normal life.
@joanmccarter It is like walking out into a broiler here in Houston. Two months of 100+ every day. Can't imagine not having AC. Electric bill was $507.00 for last month. Unbearable! It has never been this hot for this long.
@houdave We have a portable and a couple of window units that make it bearable in the rooms we really need. I shouldn't complain--we're getting 5 days of it, rather than weeks and weeks.
