My little dance last week with superventricular tachycardia. My advice: avoid it if you can.

Be Still, My Heart

On second thought, please resume beating ASAP

@jsundman Jeezus, John.
A heart-stoppingly terrifying story!
I'm glad they managed to patch you up 💛

@LillyHerself Thank you. It's kind of amazing, actually. I've been taking blood pressure medication for 25 years. A typical reading over this time has been 135/80, which my doctors have always pronounced, 'fine' or 'OK' or 'good enough'. After the procedure last week it's consistently been 120/67, which docs call 'great,' 'perfect!' etc. It wasn't a fun episode, but who knows, it may have added years to my life.

Now, you make sure to take care of yourself too, Lilly!

@jsundman
Wow, what a story!

I've had SVT since age 11, but no atrial fibrillation or anything dangerous. In my case my heart rate always reverts to normal rhythm by itself, never had adenosine.😬

My version of SVT is not disabling or life threatening in any way -- I'm lucky! But SVT can be pretty exhausting when it happens.

Anyway, here's what my heart was doing on Sunday morning for about 15 minutes (screenshot from an ECG, 202 bpm)

#SVT #tachycardia

@ahimsa_pdx Thanks for your note. I appreciate your sending the ECG, but I hope I never have to develop the skill of reading one of those things.

I appreciate your comment and I wish you good health.

@jsundman Hi, sorry for any confusion! I attached that image just to show my heart rate on Sunday morning - 202 beats per minute. I also can't read ECGs.

Changing topics, your book, Cheap Complex Devices, looks interesting! 😊

A tale told by a cheap complex device, signifying plenty.

This book is offered as PDF only because the book typography and layout are integral to the story. It is one third of the Mind over Matter trilogy; the other two volumes are Acts of the Apostles and The Pains.First publised in 2002, this novella purports to be an academic report about a storytelling contest between two AIs. But it's a lot more than that. Things are not what they seem. In fact the whole story about a storytelling contest between 2 AIs may have been invented by a storytelling AI. You're going to have to decide that for yourself. Check some reviews. This is a legit cult classic. Yours free just for signing up for my newsletter. Check reviews on Amazon (4.6 average) & elsewhere.
