@arstechnica @lisamelton medicine goes with what works [has been proven to work better than a placebo]. If medicine insisted it understood *why* something works before it could be used, we'd still be screaming through all our surgeries because they have no fscking idea how anaesthesia works.
@arstechnica “In gender-affirming surgery, concerns regarding the potential for regret are often used to deny or limit access to medically necessary care," they wrote. Yet, regret levels from other procedures are often significantly higher” #healthcare #lgbtq
@arstechnica “high satisfaction” doesn’t even begin to describe it. Life changing and wonderful gets closer, but still falls short.
@arstechnica well.. it was obvious already but I’m still glad there’s even more proof
@arstechnica
I think it's always worth acknowledging why we are reading stores like this.
We should acknowledge that Trans People are being attacked by Modern Day Fascists and we are debunking their lies.
Also, it would be good to see the numbers for cis gender people who have cosmetic surgery and how high the levels of regret are there. Because that's the complete picture. If you are not approaching this from a Far Right perspective, this is mostly a surgery story.
@arstechnica That sign is fucking facts. Deal with it transphobes.

@arstechnica While it is nice to have more research supporting gender affirming care, this will not get transphobes to admit that they're wrong.

Transphobes think even the tiniest possibility of regret completely justifies banning gender affirming operations despite the regret rate being significantly lower than other procedures. Their entire belief system is based on double standards and fear mongering.

They will believe whatever they need to in the moment in order to push their agenda.

@NocturnalNebula @arstechnica

Matt Walsh has gone mask off and loudly declared that he wants to rigidly enforce gender roles, where during his film, he pretended to take the GC view that gender is chromosomes and plumbing, nothing more or less.

@arstechnica it’s almond like conservatives were making stuff up all along 😒
@arstechnica the plane truth is no one cares

@deckytoyou @arstechnica You can simply ignore the toot or unfollow ars technica. There's no need to be rude.

For the record, plenty of people care.

@adrianmorales @arstechnica and where is there rudeness? It was not addressed to this post. People are strangely overprotective these days and it comes to the wrong side. In a way your response also a bit rude because I didn't mean to offend anybody. If PLENTY people cared we wouldn't be having this conversation. At the end of the day we all (most of us and I ain't no better) care only about us. Again, I am NOT trying to be rude just see things as it is. We are creatures of emotions not of common sense. Please see the broader picture, people really can't have any help all over the world and we don't care.
@deckytoyou @arstechnica I apologise if I seemed rude, but you know what? It takes just one person to care. They won't change the world, but they will change somebody's world.
@adrianmorales @arstechnica Agreed. But we need change or we will perish.
