Deswegen war das Feuer so schwer zu löschen…

Stellt sich folgendes heraus:

“Bei der Inspektion wurde nun deutlich, dass die unteren vier der 12 Decks weitgehend unbeschädigt sind. Auch etwa 1000 Autos, darunter 500 elektrische, seien auf den ersten Blick in gutem Zustand”

Ich weiß gerade nicht ob ich lachen oder heulen soll…

Anyway, we had a fire in a parking garage in Norway, being Norway, a lot of EVs were parked there. People were assuming that an EV caused it, because, well, people assume that any car that burns is an EV. It was a diesel car that started it. But then people said "well it was tricky because there were a lot of EVs there, and once the batteries start burning, it is hard to put out." (1/2)

@Laberpferd @FabianLaasch Turns out, NOT A SINGLE BATTERY caught fire. Even though the EVs themselves was burned to a crisp, the battery did not start burning.

It is a thing to assume the worst and blame EVs over and over, but when it comes to fires and safety, it is knowledge, not EVs, that are the problem.

Nothing is 100% safe and batteries can burn, but it is so exceptionally rare, and gas cars are WAY more risky.
