This YouTube ad for Doordash ended with a sound effect of a doorbell ringing which must qualify as some kind of war crime
@mcc those and radio ads with either car horn or siren like sound effects.

@beeoproblem @mcc and ads which make common app notification sounds like Mail.app, Discord, etc.

or ones who just outright try to make home assistants do things.

@mcc it's right up there with radio ads that feature police sirens or car honks
@ami_angelwings @mcc I honestly don't know how these are legal. Actual road risks right there
@Bigshellevent they legit spook me so much while driving, they really shouldn't be legal

@ami_angelwings It's one of those, not just wait I can't believe it's legal here, but also I can't believe it's legal in Canada. Legit, still freaks me out every time; but I'm more worried that I will be desenditised to not recognise emergen vehicles.

Also. Literal common phobia blown up on highways like large spiders for pest control ads. The fuck.

At least I haven't encountered overly lit night time highway billboards yet, though I suspect it's because it's too expensive to run in places without working road lights.

For real my dog goes nuts whenever she hears a doorbell. Takes 10 minutes just to convince her nobody is coming to pet her.
@plaidman my cat growls and goes into murder mode whenever she hears a doorbell
