Well, somebody is lying. The other girl said she put them in her backpack. If this is true, it would be impossible for someone to just "find them." On the other hand, people make stuff up all the time. She could have misplaced them and instead of owning up to that, just said that she had them in her backpack.

It's hard to tell who is lying. Lying seems to be the norm these days.

@anomietrain @ProPublica I don't think anyone needs to have lied. The girl that owned them probably forgot that she had set them down in the cafeteria. She most likely believed that they were in her backpack but was mistaken.
