Annalee Newitz 🍜Honestly I will never get over how nice it is when people use they/them pronouns for me. My whole life I always flinched a little when people used "she," but I had basically gotten used to it, the way you get used to an achey knee. And then, when the pain goes away, you can't believe how much energy you were using to suppress that pain. Anyway, this is just to say thanks everybody for using they/them pronouns for me because it's a relief every time.
Jules@annaleen YES to only realize how much energy the pain took when it goes away! It also gives me a surge of happiness after thinking for years "yeah, that doesn't feel right, but whatever".
(Now I'm extra glad I made the effort to check your pronouns when posting about "The Terraformers"! Of course it's just polite, but it's still nice to hear how good it feels for you)
