I’d love for these guys to do serious things to me
That’s what she said
There isn't a lack of willing horny indians on the internet.

Your phone is lock

faint noise in distance getting closer: ~this~ is the lock picking lawyer

And what i have for you today is an app that says they’ve locked my phone. Now ofc, as you can see, this is clearly a scam, observable through the messy language and the claim that 500$ is enough to get you off an accusation of treason. Now, I’ll show you how this can be opened quite easily, and how rudimentary this is a lock. If you press the home button it’s already enough to let you see that this is merely a crappy app running on your phone, potentially installed instead of a desired piece of software (in my case it was a calculator app) and as such, it’s easy to get rid of it and there’s nothing to fear. You can also merely close the app and remove all background processes related to it quite easily. Thanks for watching and have a nice day
but what if it was a fluke
Have you priced a Fluke lately? Things must be made with gold…

I’m going to reinstall and remove it again to prove you it was not a fluke.

taps a few times on the screen
shows app installing
shows fake lock screen
opens list of running apps
nothing on one, nothing on two, a fake app on three… closes and uninstalls the app

Done! That’s everything I had for you today,…

Thanks for watching and have a nice day
Definitely by master lock smh
forwards to 6,969 people
Fucking hell I read this line Roman from GTA IV
Hey Niko it’s Roman… Let’s go bowling send viruses!
FOLLOW THE RULES!!! Give me the virus!!!
Because they are trying to tap into a primal fear to get people to do what they want them to do.
worst part is, if they spread it enough, people will pay.
This is a sort of pre-screening for them. They essentially only want people who are dumb enough to fall for this.
Wouldn’t say “dumb”. More like borderline senile elderly or other vulnerable targets. Elderly people usually have large saving accounts, so there’s a lot to win for these scammers if they find someone who’s decently senile.

People with certain disabilities as well

As funny as this post is, these scammers are really cruel and heartless individuals

And old people who are not native english speakers.

www.ic3.gov/Media/PDF/…/2020_IC3Report.pdf

This isn’t really an age thing, if you look at stats. Yes, the older age groups both have more victims and larger losses than younger people. But the victim count isn’t so much lower that you can just brush it off as people being senile. Or are all the gen x and millennial victims senile too?

A lot of scams can fall into one of two categories. Scare people and activate their fight or flight mode (locked computer, threaten to have the cops show up, etc) and the second prey on poor people (send us money to authorize this big payment to you, buy this penny stock that we totally didn’t pump before, etc)

Same reason they do Nigerian prince scams still: it’s so ridiculous no one will believe it except the people you absolutely 100% can get a score off of, so you can send these to a million people easily and they self select into the “easy to scam” group and you only work that one. You automate the cheap part of the process (initiating the scam) while making the expensive part (chatting with the mark) more productive
This guy scams!
i never thought about that, it makes a lot of sense

This technique is used elsewhere too, it’s an extremely effective recruiting tool, as long as you’re trying to recruit fools. And fools make a great easy to manipulate army of voters and racists etc that can be useful to those trying to gain or maintain power.

Think about how dumb you have to be to fall for…

  • Kids having Post-birth abortions in California!

  • Litter boxes in classrooms

  • Fire season is due to Jewish space lasers

That’s the way it works. I had an uncle with multiple sclerosis (spelling?). He used to get his PC infected with all sorts of ransomware back in late 90’s. For him credit card was the answer, luckily his siblings mostly got somebody to clean the shit up.

Exactly. Thus the spelling & grammar errors, the obviously far-fetched story. They want the people who don’t raise red flags when they see that nonsense.

They’re filtering for stupid.

I think it’s a combination of that and there are the sort of people who will put some effort into scams, but not like enough to make it believable.

Because they’re preying on the people that this would work on.

They’re not targeting the people who can tell this is a scam

The people who would fall for it... who also can figure out how to get and transfer bitcoin and could do so without someone telling them to not do this shit.... seems like a subset of a subset of a subset.
I don’t think there is any Bitcoin transaction happening after that. They might try to click on it and get a call from someone who claims to help them get rid of that screen. That’s where the actual scam starts. Watch some kidboga if you want to see how it works.
There are about 330million people in the USA. A few will fall for this and it might be worth it.
If just 0.1% fall for this that 330 thousand people. Multiply that by 500 US currencies (lol) and thats 165 million US currencies worth of bitcoin.
Only when you get every single person living in the US to infect their phone
I wasn’t going to fall for this, but then I saw the tiger and figured they MUST be serious.
The tiger is what does it for me 😂
Serious furry and punishment.
You can always tell it’s a legit communication from the FBI police when you see the snarling tiger.
To pump fear and to not make it look too legit so they can weed out those who are more likely to know it’s a scam
Can’t wait to pay off the FBI with my Bitcoin
“FBI OPEN UP! Slide an NFT under the door and we’ll leave!”
Can we settle for a couple Dogecoin?
How bout 300 billion imaginary coin
where were you when phone was lock?

Apology for poor English

Where were you when phone was lock?

I was sat at home drinking brain fluid when Tiger ring

‘phone is lock’

‘no’

and you???

Does it also play eye of the tigger on the baclground?
People say they’re fishing for idiots but a lot of these people making these scams are very poorly educated and very corrupt areas where official messages aren’t too dissimilar.
I love that there’s a tiger there purely for intimidation tactics.
I used to work at Verizon and had someone come in with a full screen ransomware claiming it was detected to have child porn. It was just a scam to get them to be too scared to seek help. I just turned the phone off and did a quick factory reset and they were blown away when I had fixed it in like 2 minutes lol.

Huh, what’s with that flag?

sees second flag

Oh, it’s the American flag!

But notably no red flags, so I declare this legit!
Dammit! I love violating the government!
I’m a bigger fan of violatuing the government, personally.
