Percentage of primary school children taught through the native language:
-Wales 24%
-Ireland 8% (26 counties)

My understanding is that, in Catalonia, a principle is that all children have a right to education in Catalan.

@gaeilge @DerekHolly7 In Catalonia, state schools are *required* to use Catalan as the primary language of instruction.

The smaller cities that are the mainstay of the independentist movement are heavily Catalanophone. Whilst Barcelona, whose metro area is well over half the population of Catalonia, is strongly autonomist, it does not have a majority for independence, and does have a majority with Spanish as first language.

@DerekHolly7 @gaeilge Comparison to Welsh might be valid, but comparison to Catalan is not valid. You may as well compare it to the right to education in French in France, German in Germany, etc.
