Whats the best solution for remote controlling Gnome linux workstation from macOS on a local network? @linux
Check out RustDesk.
I like the simplicity of x11vnc, or if you’re on Wayland, wayvnc.
LMGTFY - Let Me Google That For You

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

@abraham_linksys seriously? lol thanks - I've used most of the solutions recommended some not, i've done my share of searching - just looking for input / I have frequent Microsoft remote desktop use and want something as solid and feature rich thats not Microsoft & to use with linux and mac / in hopes to use RDP and windows remote systems less…

I…don’t remember posting this. Sorry dude, drunk me decided he didn’t like your question. I had a lovely night too this was just me being a dick on the train for no reason.

Anyway hopefully someone else was helpful lol

No machine? I assume there’s a mac client.
I mean its unconventional, but moonlight + sunshine
Via web with novnc.

I’m sorry, and I know everyone recommends it, but RustDesk is not fully baked. Every time I have tried it, I consistently have issues with the Mac client.

I’m also looking for a good, reliable, and fast Remote Desktop solution between my Mac and my Linux rig. It used to be TeamViewer, then they got to be greedy. Then it was Chrome Remote Desktop, but it doesn’t work well on Arch (for me, anyway) and I’ve de-Googled myself as much as I’m able. Then I tried RustDesk and I had nothing but issues.

I may go back to NoMachine. It wasn’t perfect, but it at least worked most of the time.

@ulkesh thanks! i totally forgot about nomachine - I’m seeking something as feature rich and solid as Microsoft Remote Desktop but to use mainly for remote or remote virtual linux instances - in hopes to reduce my windows machines.
RDP works so well > I can take a teams call/video + screen share from a remote machine... - maybe too much to ask but i want it like that in linux ;D
@ulkesh I’m using noMachine now. it's working.
I think i will experiment with deConf edit like back in the day to use VNC and see how that goes. - I wonder though, will anything be a good as RDP?
the rendering quality of the display seems much better. 20 year Mac veteran. I love linux though. Noticed my 100% linux to linux environments always work really well but in this case I want to reduce my Windows / Windows server footprint to support open source and driving using macOS mosty
Rustdesk, Anydesk, TeamViewer or VNC.
