After months of massive deaths & a pandemic raging out of control, #Sweden finally wised up & started #vaccinating everyone.

Instead the focus of the messaging was on avoiding crowds and keeping distance. After the shortage was resolved, mask use were not really encouraged, leading to criticism from mask proponents. Compulsory masks were never considered since there is no legal basis.

Masking was discouraged here as well early on, but Trumpsters heralded Sweden's refusal to institute generally accepted preventative measures and see if "herd immunity" could be achieved by allowing the virus to spread.
Regardless of when Sweden accepted this was a failed policy and reversed course, Trumpsters are STILL under the mistaken belief they never did and "proved" that masking & social distancing were unnecessary.
@MugsysRapSheet @kallekn Sweden never had a policy to let the virus spread, but there was a lot of talk in the media about herd immunity in the beginning. From the beginning, “flatten the curve” was the core official message. There was however a sense that the virus would eventually spread, which of course happened everywhere, even “0-covid” New Zealand. The main bad thing about Sweden’s handling of the crisis was badly run nursing homes with ill-equipped staff.

Letting it run rampant is definitely not confined to trunts. Biden's staggered removal of mitigations as vax efficacy declined demonstrated a desire to cultivate survivorship through deliberate exposure, aka democide. Biden's Omicron permeates all organs and is functionally impervious to CTL pressure, even among vaccinees. The infection is chronic. Replication and injury continue indefinitely after symptoms recede. Biden knew this when he let it rip.

The Biden Admin pushed heavily to get everyone vaccinated. But Right Wingers simply refused to take ANY reasonable restrictions/precautions. The best he could hope for was that enough "reasonable" people would get vaccinated to achieve #HerdImmunity. Any failure to stop that spread falls on the shoulders of RW deniers (a bunch of pathetic children who would rather die than eat their peas.)
