I think Vim is a kind of piece of software that I found fabulous when I first migrated to Linux.

At first I had to deal with Vi, but I quickly discovered #Vim which was a lot more powerful.

Back in the days when I started with Linux, vim wal already main editor on the distros I have used. It also was the only console editor I could find that did not behave strange and had syntax highlighting.
