One day there was some jerk that left a string of racist comments on a Library Comic post on Instagram. Before blocking him, I took a screenshot of his profile page. The next time I needed a random asshole in the comic, I drew him.
@Chrishallbeck : This guy would probably use an unsafe space heater that starts a fire, so keep an eye on him all the same.
@TobyBartels @Chrishallbeck ISTR the sockets for public use in my library are connected to 6A RCD circuit breakers (shared across 2 tables as a radial circuit) with a prominent warning by each about this limitation) instead of a 16A radial or 32A ring final (this is the UK where we have different wiring schemes) - so all laptops and mobile phone chargers are OK, but plugging in a space heater (or anything that is grossly defective) will just open this circuit breaker and isolate the power..
@Chrishallbeck
I love public libraries and the librarians who keep them working. Sadly, way too often they have to deal with people like this ✳️.

@Chrishallbeck

Awww

I thought that you did Unshelved and I was so excited for a second. 😒

Ooh but that's one of the same people!

@Homebrewandhacking I co-wrote and drew Unshelved after the original co-creator left.
@Chrishallbeck Sorry, I don't get the point. Where is the racism?
@iladj70s @Chrishallbeck the racism was in a comment under another comic. Here, we can see the retaliation : portray the comic's asshole with the face of the racist guy.

@Chrishallbeck

Was this comic about one of those stories of a racist calling the police on someone for being black?

@Chrishallbeck my girlfriend is a librarian. This is 100% accurate. Always someone with bizarre comments. The folks β€œfully utilizing” the bathroom are usually never a problem. The overly opinionated folks usually cause a scene.
@Chrishallbeck they think life is a zero sum game, so they lose every time someone else gains
