I think Vim is a kind of piece of software that I found fabulous when I first migrated to Linux.

At first I had to deal with Vi, but I quickly discovered #Vim which was a lot more powerful.

@solene I was lucky enough to meet him at a conference once. He seemed like a genuinely nice person, and a little surprised that a relatively small piece of software thrust him into stardom? Thanks for sharing the sad news, though.
