realizing I can feel however about masto as a whole without it affecting my love for Jorts dot Horse, my Home, Online
I like the overall vibe better on bluesky bc there are a LOT more twitter people there and it has that familiar feel, it's more accepting of shitposts, etc but at the end of the day it's another corporate platform that will eventually monetize and then start sucking shit chasing ad dollars and probably be destroyed by its dumbshit techbro devs, so it behooves me to keep putting energy into making Jorts the official Shitposting Center of the Fediverse
@ancient_catbus the fact that BlueSky is smaller but with a stronger willingness for Twitter users to migrate towards it speaks volumes about them doing something correctly with their design. (Not to negate their profit motives and moderation controversy though; they still have a lot to work on.)
@antimnguyen yeah whatever else you say about it, it FEELS better even tho it still lacks so much basic functionality. Mainly, it's very simple to join and finding your friends and talking with them is easy and intuitive
@ancient_catbus
I am extremely curious about why it feels this way. like it doesn't feel that way to me necessarily, tho the default algo surfacing shitposts is nice, but it still feels very alienating and individualizing as other algorithmic platforms do, but ofc I believe other ppl saying that and I wonder why that is!!?
