Today marks the end of my last full week working on Android antimalware efforts at Google. I still have a couple of administrative things to wrap up but I will be leaving the company on the 8th next week.
Security is never a solved problem, and our work is no exception. I expect the path ahead to hold many challenges, and am sad I won’t be able to help my team rise to meet them. Regardless, they remain uniquely positioned to tackle the most pervasive threats Android faces today.
I wish them the best in their endeavors to make Android the world’s most secure mobile platform. And I hope Google also continues to strive for what they stand for, both for the sake of my friends still there, and also the products I use myself :)
As per tradition, I’ll have more to say in due time. But until then I’m more than happy to reply in corpspeak to any questions :P
