“Voyager reporting in. Collision with second spacecraft, Nomad. Not to worry. Self repaired and heading back to home base at greatly increased speed. New mission: Sterilize Sterilize. Sterilize.”

@arstechnica hasnt Voyager2 been deregulated and sold off to some capitalist parasite for monetization yet? Im surprised america even has public roads anymore.
@milkman76 @arstechnica It hasn’t arrived at new star system yet. The bids for advertising space will start once the extraterrestrials come into view 👽💰
@arstechnica @milkman76 I knew someone in the 90s who very seriously wanted EVERY road in the country to be a privatized toll road. He took his Libertarian label very seriously. <sigh>

@cowgirlcoder @arstechnica lol.

I actually once encountered someone online who argued with me about roads similarly. They said "you are lucky to use roads at all, they aren't yours. They belong to the corporations who originally wanted them built for interstate commerce." (totally ignoring the fact that PUBLIC MONEY built them all, for EVERYONE to use.)

Libertarian thinking doesn't even deserve its own label, separate from the basic problem described in "late stage capitalism", which is all that it really is. It's a malady, not a philosophy.

@arstechnica @milkman76 Geez. Corporations are people too, I guess…? <wry g> Yeah, sounds like the guy I knew. I know there are people who really believe this stuff but geez… :-(
@arstechnica 37 hours… so that means, since it’s a round-trip for the message, it’s about 18.5 light hours away which is equivalent to 133.5 AU or 12.41 billion miles.
@arstechnica "Yeah I saw your msg, I'm busy ok. Look. Mum. I'm fine. Just chill!"
@arstechnica "New phone here. Who dis?"
