RunAwayFrogA general purpose instance with no claimed “safe space” offering should only be burdened with instance-level defederation talk when another instance is behaving badly at a technical level, or when its admins are actively involved in, or not actively trying to prevent, spam, brigading, repeat copyright infringement, and stuff like that.
Bad thoughts expressed in text form by individual users shouldn’t be ground for such talk, and to create a foray over such an inactive instance is quite self-indulging.
If anything, maybe a couple of previous defederation decisions were taken in haste, and should be reconsidered!
If you’re looking for a “safe” instance, there are a couple that should suit you. One of them was already recommended to you.
Um this instance is hosted in Canada… There are legal requirements and named instance falls likely within that i just suggested we defederate them before they make problems, we did defederate 3 instances, Burggit because they allow content illigal to distribute in Canada, Exploding heads, because they are Nazis and Lemmygrad because they are brigading commies and on the same level as Exploding heads.
So your argument is pretty much invalidated by the instance itself and by laws. I don’t want a safe space at all, i hate safe spaces, but a instance spreading just hate misinformation and similar stuff doesn’t need to be federated. If you want to have their content, go and make a account there.
