Anyone got an outdoor/weatherproof HomeKit smart plug they like?

UPDATE: I picked up a Meross.

@ismh rock solid with dimming.

@KtoBB8 @ismh l was about to come post this! We used it for our holiday lights last year. Loved it!

@mcul @ismh used both of those for Christmas lights last winter. Both sat outside, in the rain and snow, for over a month and they worked perfectly
@ismh nope, I put mine in a small plastic enclosure and it seems to be doing ok. Couldn't find a good one that worked reliably outside the house (wifi interference? 🤷‍♂️)

Works for me good enough. Been outdoor for last year and most of the times works instantly. But it’s not thread, just Wi-Fi.

Outdoor Smart Plug - Meross Smart Device MSS620US

Meross outdoor smart plug MSS620 is IP44 waterproof housing, ideal for both indoor/outdoor use. The product is listed on Apple HomeKit website.

@ismh I swear by this one. It has never failed me. https://a.co/d/5xuobSZ

@ismh Another vote for one of the Meross plugs. Surprisingly solid.

@ismh I’ll give you an anti-recommendation for the iDevices model, which falls off the WiFi regularly and is a pain in the butt to re-pair when it breaks, since it’s 2.4GHz only. Still waiting for someone to make a good Thread (Matter and/or HomeKit) outdoor plug so I can stop dealing with this.

Seriously, dual-band compatibility has been mandated for 15 years!

@ismh I’ve been using this one for lights outside. The nice thing about it is you can control each of those plug individually. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08BFGRY9C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

@ChrisLawley @ismh I liked this plug so much that I bought second one. Somehow the Home.app got the two confused. It took me forever to figure out why my scooter wasn’t charged and the lights never turned off.
@ChrisLawley even though this wasn’t directed at me, I appreciate the link. Been looking for more HomeKit stuff since moving to iPhone 2 years ago.
@ismh Caséta makes one
@caseyliss @ismh I use it - quick and reliable like all of Caséta stuff. Mine is slightly covered so it isn’t in direct rain, but definitely exposed to the elements and hasn’t failed yet
@ismh I’ve never had Lutron Caseta stuff fail me, their outdoor plug included: https://www.casetawireless.com/us/en/products/smart-plugs

@ismh one more Meross vote. I have an outdoor one I have not used yet, but I have a number of their other HomeKit devices and I have zero complaints about any of them.
@ismh This one has been rock solid, even when I plugged a high-draw appliance into it. https://www.amazon.com/Kasa-Smart-Resistance-Compatible-EP40A/dp/B0BMWLH7X1

@ismh just a heads up with some of these smart plugs. No name brands have a hard time keeping WiFi connections leading to the dreaded “no response” in HomeKit.
@ismh I have transitioned to everything Caséta for the reliability. They offer an outdoor HomeKit plug.
@ismh Meross has been a mixed bag for me, but I’ve had a good experience with this one. https://a.co/d/3qhe2mr
@ismh I’ve had the meross Outdoor Smart Plug https://a.co/d/cjGD2j0 for awhile and it’s been great.

@ismh I use this one for my Christmas lights in the winter:

It works covered in snow and -20° F for me, which is awesome.
