@GrrlScientist I love living in the Netherlands for this specific reason.
@bloodymirova @GrrlScientist what are typical takt of the bus/tram/train in Netherlands?
@thatsame @GrrlScientist is takt the same as interval 😃? Depends on the starting point and destination - usually anything within the Randstad (Amsterdam-Utrecht-Den Haag-Rotterdam) cadence is quite good, 10-15 minutes max. Also depends on rush hour, whether it’s zomertijd, etc
@bloodymirova @GrrlScientist yep, takt means interval) 10-15 is not very short, it can easily make you 30 mins on 2 transfers. In Berlin it is 10 - 20 mins and I hate it. In Moscow, for instance, it is about 2 min. In Japan some lines also have a few minutes. I would like to have a 5 min interval here, TBH
@thatsame @GrrlScientist that’s the max, rush hour metro for example is more like 7 minutes. But Amsterdam is tiny (and so is NL, especially compared to DE) so not that hard to make it from one side of town to the other pretty quickly.
@bloodymirova @GrrlScientist unfortunately, in Berlin it is currently impossible to get anywhere faster using public transit than by a car.
@thatsame @GrrlScientist in most cases a car is not a really good option here. train/metro or bike is the fastest, trams are not super fast but reach many points, and driving (especially in the center) is slow, expensive (parking is crazy) and stress-inducing AF 😃
@bloodymirova @GrrlScientist if i lived inside the ringbahn (center) i would not also think about a car :)
