RIP my NVivo license 💔 I spent so much time learning to use this software, but I think it's time to find an #opensource alternative.

I am thinking #Taguette. Any other free NVivo alternates that folks like?

@adg Depending on what you need it for, QualCoder could be an option to consider https://github.com/ccbogel/QualCoder
GitHub - ccbogel/QualCoder: Qualitative data analysis for text, images, audio, video. Cross platform. Python 3.10 or newer and PyQt6.

@owlyph Oh, interesting! I've been using NVivo for coding qualitative data. What do you see as the advantages of QualCoder over Taguette?
@adg It's been a while since I've tried Taguette (actually am a bit rusty with QualCoder too... just recently started refreshing myself). However, my memory was that Taguette had a narrower feature-set. Which might be a good thing if it's doing what you need. I felt like QualCoder was getting a bit closer in features to NVivo / similar workflow paradigm. I think it has various supports for audio/video but am not sure if Taguette is for that. Probably someone else here knows more than I do. 🙂
@adg Oh also, the interfaces are pretty different. If you want something browser-based vs. stand-alone desktop application.
@adg @matherion can provide a link to The ROCK project

@ajamesgreen @adg yeah, https://rock.science 🙂

We're also working on a GUI that will hopefully be in beta soon 🤩

In the meantime, let me know if you have any questions! 🙂
