Today I took the kids out to Battersea Powerstation today for a spot of shopping. Bought Alice some new shoes, visited a perfume shop and came away with a selection of very nice samples, had a very fine lunch and generally had a good time.
Here's a clip as we are sitting down to our lunch at a burger place as captured by the #Sennheiser #Ambeo headset using #JustPressRecord
Sometimes it feels like from one day to the next, kids go from being barely able to communicate, to being more articulate than several adults with no steps in-between. Madness.
@FreakyFwoof Ooh perfume shop you'll have to tell us all about your samples. Fragrant loving inquiring minds want to know.
@robini71 It was a very very expensive shop called Penhaligon's which was very nice, but for me to buy anything from there I'd have to save for a long time haha
@FreakyFwoof Ah yes i know them well. Their Blenheim Bouquet i think it's called is a lovely fragrance for the gents.
@FreakyFwoof Oh my how funny with the music. What was for lunch?
@robini71 Big burgers and waffle fries.
@FreakyFwoof Yummiliciousioso. How big the kids are now. I feel old.
@FreakyFwoof I love slice of life clips like this. I especially enjoy, and always have, recordings with you and your kids. :)
@johnl1129 They are great and I'm lucky to have them honestly.
@FreakyFwoof your daughter is a real chatterbox. I can not tolerate eating in places with loud music, that venue would drive me round the bend. How was the food in the end?
@barkingbabs That wasn't loud, trust me. WE could hear each other. I've been in places far less tolerable than that. I do agree with you in principle however. Loud music pisses me right off. Food was great.
@FreakyFwoof that would be considered loud here, but I suppose London is a different place entirely.
@FreakyFwoof amazing clip again! i wish that baby Liam will be like this when he groe up.
@FreakyFwoof Perfect timing to catch that epic sound fail.
@FreakyFwoof That’s a great clip! I used to record bits of audio using Voice Memos but got out of the habit since he’s got a bit older! You’ve reminded me I should do it again
@sarahmatthews Of course you must. If you have no sight at all, then these are your photos. As parents we don't want to ever forget what they once sounded like, you know? Please don't forget to capture those memories, they are 100% important. I can't stress this enough.
Slightly sad/morbid whatever but when I lost my mum in 2017, I realised that I was so glad to have recorded the last full day I had with her.
I went to take over her birthday present, turned up in a cab, put on a silly voice and said 'Got a delivery for you!'
She'd no idea I was coming, so when she saw me she was very happy.
That was the last time I heard her in-person, alive.
So yeah, back to kids, record, capture, save, cherish. All these things are super super important. Please, don't ever let those things go.
@FreakyFwoof You’re so right, and I’m so pleased to hear that you’ve got that last day captured
@FreakyFwoof Aw, love this! Your kids both sound like 2 years older than they actually are. Also, your Ambeos somehow don't give you that muffled quality that binaurals usually give to the wearer. Did you do anything to the recording, or is this exactly as captured? Sounds like you had a perfect day out together.
@ricky_enger That's Ambeos in general. About how they sound whenever I hear others. Don't you own a set? If not, you should definitely grab them. Discontinued and thus, cheap as a result.
No I didn't doctor the recording, didn't have to.
@FreakyFwoof Yep, I have a set and love them. Somehow I still hear the binaural oddity on my recordings, but maybe I've just tricked myself into believing it's there. I certainly don't hear it in other recordings. I hate that they're discontinued because I know some day these will die and I'll be very sad indeed.
