When I lived in Ottawa, Canada, some neighborhoods prohibited outdoor washing lines!
Almost as if modern humans can only function when using fossil fuels . . .

Ugghhh. I think legally (in the US anyway) the HOAs aren't allowed to ban them any more. You'd hope it was the same in Canada. I guess it's the idea they're unsightly? Sigh.
