@[email protected] it really does. And I think there's a particular extra unpleasantness in the experience because unlike twitter it's all framed in a kind of 'progressive' and concerned way. It's easy to ignore someone called "@.magahat9991" but when it's people who are just sincerely evangelical but insensitive to the point of harassment it gets under my skin in a different way. I guess I'm saying the slow blade penetrates the shield.
@Loukas @RickiTarr Ha, I like yours too!
A mutual on here does good-natured shitposting, and she might write something like she’s going to stop drawing and marry an elderly prince for castle or something, and people reply in earnest with advice, or why she shouldn’t do that. She partially inspired my bit.
@RickiTarr when my kids have exhausted every other possible option they then gird up their loins, create a pathway of caveats and then ask me their question. They have a very specific look in their eyes when they do it too and I think that they use the bathroom and hydrate before approaching me, something like this😬.
I don't try to be didactic, it's just how my brain interacts with the world. I think of it as "they wouldn't have asked if they didn't want to know" .
My kids are adult now and they still love me. I tell them occasionally that I hope I didn’t traumatize them. 🙀
On the other hand, I get shit done. 😹
Much more forebrain activity here, more amygdala in pay-to-play sites.
It’s one of the many problems of capitalism is that just because something is popular doesn’t mean it’s any good for anyone.
I don’t think morality laws are the answer, but I seriously think they should change the curriculum in schools to focus on interpreting information.
