They have a very specific look in their eyes when they do it too and I think that they use the bathroom and hydrate before approaching me, something like this😬.
I don't try to be didactic, it's just how my brain interacts with the world. I think of it as "they wouldn't have asked if they didn't want to know" .
PCMy kids are adult now and they still love me. I tell them occasionally that I hope I didn’t traumatize them. 🙀
