I would like to report that the cheesy jalapeno sausage, egg and cheese McMuffin is friggin' delicious.
Thank you for your time.

Had a BLT McMuffin up in Canada and it was great. Is this homemade or where did you find it?
@ronpar it's a new thing on the menus, hit it first in Kansas and then again in Denver so it might be a regional roll out. I've never seen a BLT McMuffin though!

@mycotropic
BLT McMuffin with egg. Probably only north of the border. Debating about asking for one just to see what happens

Thanks for the reply and I’ll look for it up here in #FortCollins

Freddy’s used to have a green chili burger that was pretty good, but it disappeared off their menu

@ronpar I did a motorcycle tour on Saturday that went past Horsetooth Reservoir, is it my imagination or is that a terrifying amount of water to have suspended over your town? Actually I hit two reservoirs and one was terrifying and the other wasn't, is Horsetooth the terrifying one? Way up high with just a little wall holding it back?

@mycotropic
You get used to it 😉. I think there are four dams holding it all back so it depends on which one lets go.

Much more concerning 10 (20?) years ago when the Army Corps of Engineers realized that ALL the earth dams at Horsetooth and similar-era reservoirs were defective and could fail.

If you’re up on campus and a dam goes, just try to get to the USDA seed vault. It is supposedly designed to survive a failure and protect the seed bank (don’t know about people that might be inside😉)

@ronpar have you driven the road up there along the top? It certainly gets your attention on a motorcycle I'll tell you what!!

@mycotropic
Driven and cycled. It’s a fun ride when the traffic is low density. Some areas to pull out and take in the views.

Hiking in Horsetooth Mountain Open Space or Lory State Park also worth the time.

@ronpar I'll send my wife to hike it, I have old knees and she's comfy with 20 mile days. Any suggestions for hikes with trees though, it seemed a bit exposed up there!

@mycotropic
Some areas have good tree coverage. At #HorsetoothMOS , the north part of the park (next to Lory) has good tree coverage once you hike up out of the valley. There is a small parking lot at the Soderberg Trailhead that has the easiest access, but it gets full fast.

I feel your pain about bad knees. I cycle so I can hike (with good poles) and I can day hike pretty well.

If you haven’t tried Brainard Lake yet, that’s another good (but busy!) place. Usually see moose up there.

@mycotropic
You can also access the northern part of the open space from the trailhead for Arthur’s Rock in Lory State Park. #HorsetoothMOS has a fee, but if you have a state parks pass, Lory is a better bet (and the parking lot is bigger). #FortCollins tourism freebie 😉
@ronpar thanks, passed on to the hiker! 20 mile hikes give her awe inspiring legs so, thanks!!!
