All the Beauty and the Bloodshed
2022

Documentary by Laura Poitras alongside NY underground photographer Nan Goldin, who builds a force through non-linear narrative, interjecting around each anecdote and defoliating following resistance.

The struggle against the Sackler family company, which has been driving the opioid crisis, becomes the suspense of the film.

Poitras has succeeded in creating a grandiose mixture of protest documentary "David against Goliath" and the portrait of an artist. In retrospect, the film is actually a tribute to Goldin's sister's rebellion and a legacy of deceased friends.
