We have cut ourselves off from nature, which is why we exploit nature, as if nature was just here for us. And we can do what we like. We can, you know, rape the world, all the earth, take all its resources, with no concern at all with what we’re doing, thinking only from now, not caring about the future, harming each other, harming the animal kingdom, harming everything in our greed.

That doesn’t show intelligence. We think we’re so clever and yet we’re killing ourselves. I mean, even a bird knows not to foul its own nest. But we haven’t even learned that yet. And so we’re destroying the only planet we have, along with all the beings who inhabit this planet along with us, all the animals. I mean, it’s always telling you how many animals every day are becoming extinct because of us—all the insects, the birds, the fish.
