@jsit @mekkaokereke @BBCRD assuming Threads does actually join the fediverse, all the problems we anticipate with the more *social* instances aside, it seems sensible now for corporations and large organisations to have their own instances that they can control to serve into *threads* as well as the rest of the fediverse.

@jsit @Nicovel0 I think this is a brilliant idea.

Many of us are critical of the BBC's direction since 2016 but it remains licence-payer funded broadcaster to the nation. It is logical it should have a Mastodon server.
